Welcome to Dernancourt School
Dernancourt School is located 12km north east of the Adelaide CBD, not far from tree-lined linear park. We have high quality learning programs and an environment that maximises the potential of all students. The school's logo learning together is an icon of our positive relationships. We value the richness of the many cultures within our community. Students with a non-English speaking background have extra support and comprise 35% of our school population. We also have two district special classes.
The current focus is student engagement and well-being, literacy, numeracy and Information Communication Technology (ICT). We have interactive white boards in all classrooms. Further, a Neuroscience coordinator enables learners to access the latest developments in knowledge about the brain. Students with high intellectual potential are supported through a wide range of approaches and we have a comprehensive intervention program. Arts and Japanese are specialist subjects.
We encourage each child to do their very best and parents are highly valued in our community.

Our Learning SA - Continued Learning Between School and Home
Our new online curriculum portal Our Learning SA is now live.
This site is an online collection of education materials and has been developed by department curriculum managers and expert teachers.
The site provides learning materials and activities across all learning areas in the Early Years Framework and the Australian Curriculum. There are materials that are appropriate for families as well as resources that are more targeted towards teachers.
The new easy-to-use website supports:
- continued learning between school and home
- students with opportunities to work independently
- parents and caregivers with resources and guidance to support learning at home
- teachers with resources to support them teaching the curriculum.
This space has been created with urgency to support school and preschool communities in this challenging time and will continue to be developed over the coming weeks and months.
Bookmark Library System
Our Bookmark Library System is now available online. The simple webpage provides search-only access to our catalogue data. Resources are available to staff and students of the school, subject to availability and loan restrictions.
